Tina Turner's Wedding: Snapper Used Drone Aug 5th 2013, 06:33

A paparazzo used a drone to try to film the secretive wedding of Tina Turner to her longtime partner Erwin Bach, it has been claimed.

German publication Der Spiegel said the couple went to great lengths to block the wedding from public view, but were almost foiled by the enterprising photographer.

The freelance snapper decided to fly a remote-controlled drone over the wedding – held at Turner's estate on Lake Zurich – to get exclusive pictures of the nuptials.

But his plan was foiled when Swiss police ordered him to land the aircraft and confiscated his memory card.

However a local tabloid photographer did manage to get a photo from the air – by boarding a small aeroplane.

The star-studded event was attended by celebrities including Oprah Winfrey and Bryan Adams, and was shrouded in secrecy.

Red cloth was even hoisted in the garden of Turner’s estate to block prying eyes.

Days after the event, the newlyweds shared their wedding photos with a glossy magazine.

The pictures showed Turner, 73, wearing a black and green gown by Georgio Armani, with all female guests wearing white, and male guests wearing black.

Turner has been in a relationship with 57-year-old Bach for 27 years.
