Subject: Charlie Brown Star Pleads Guilty To Stalking
The man who provided the voice of Charlie Brown of Peanuts fame has pleaded guilty to stalking charges. Peter Robbins admitted threatening and stalking both his ex-girlfriend and a plastic surgeon who gave her a breast enhancement he paid for. San Diego's City News Service said the 56-year-old entered the plea in court on Wednesday and could get up to three years in prison at his sentencing next month. Peter Robbins in a Californian court in January, 2013 Prosecutors said Robbins called his former girlfriend dozens of times a day and told her he would kill her and her son if she did not give back his dog and car. They said he made similar threats and demanded a refund from the plastic surgeon. The court heard that Robbins had called the plastic surgeon so many times, she was forced to move to a hotel temporarily, out of fear for her life. She also hired an armed guard to stand outside her clinic. Robbins voiced the title character in 1965's A Charlie Brown Christmas and 1966's It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. The Peanuts comic strip, which was written and illustrated by Charles M Schulz, ran from 1950 to 2000, and at its peak was read by 355 million people in 75 countries. |
