Kelly Rowland Rescued From Boat Lost At Sea Jul 22nd 2013, 10:48
Singer Kelly Rowland was among a group of passengers who had to be rescued from a private boat after the vessel got lost at sea.
The R&B star was on board a rented boat that was following a commercial-whale watching vessel when the captain lost sight of the boat in front and became disorientated.
The coast guard was alerted and a commercial towboat operator sent to escort the private vessel back to shore.
Rowland and her fellow passengers were taken to Provincetown, at the tip of Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
TowBoat US Provincetown said on its Facebook page that the boat was 33 miles (53km) north of Provincetown.
It said the passengers "were great. Just a little shook up".
Rowland was a founding member of Destiny's Child before she launched a solo career and appeared as a judge on The X Factor in 2011.
The group briefly reunited this year when Rowland and Michelle Williams joined Beyonce for a Super Bowl performance.
The seas off Boston and around the Cape Cod peninsula are popular whale-watching spots, with charter and tour boat companies transporting large numbers of tourists and locals out onto the waters each season, typically from May to October.
